Meditations on a Theme : Honor

Honor: a Haiku

Label me stupid,
Denigrate my family;
It does not matter.

Question my honor,
Doubt my honesty to me;
Suffer the result.

Honor: Thoughts

The will to go on,
when the battle is lost;
not for glory,
not for fame,
but because it is right.
Holding at the center,
when the outside is lost,
when chaos is at the door,
because that is what is done.
Admitting wrongs,
not because one is trapped,
in a lie, or a mistake,
but because that is the way of living.
Standing up straight,
cleaving to what is right,
when there are easier paths,
doing what is to be done,
when it is easier to stop,
because that is the way.

Honor: A Definition

It is doing the right thing always, not just when it is convenient, or easy. True honor lies in standing up for what is right with no regard to the consequences, other than the voice inside your heart.
